Moby Duck left this review about The Plume of Feathers
An old traditional pub of such an age that Oliver Cromwell reputably stayed here in 1645. Two roomed with the L shaped front bar featuring black painted aged oak posts and beams, the white painted walls host pictures of the village in bygone days as well as local cricket teams present and past, normal tables and chairs as well as cushioned pews provide the seating. A quick glance in the rear room confirmed a slightly more modern food orientated feel. Three beers on but unfortunately too pedestrian for my taste, Greene King IPA, Wadworth 6X and the local Andwell Resolute, the keg all pretty standard stuff with myself choosing a Peroni. The clientele present on my early evening seemed almost exclusively a local crowd of the well heeled variety.
Nice pub, dull beer.
