When this was the Cock Inn it was pretty hopeless, you wouldn't have thought it possible to make it worse. Well it's now been re-christened the Headley Hills Restaurant and Bar, presumably to shake off its previous poor reputation, and suffered an amazingly tasteless refurbishment. It's all divided into small, cramped and cluttered areas with most surfaces, wood panels, boxed-in beams, the sort of little wooden chairs you get in twee cafes in those towns with a lot of fudge shops, the whole lot painted gloss white. That's apart from the bits which are neon-pink. There are of course the compulsory sofas taking up too much space for too few people, then a more sedate restaurant area. It is then is randomly lit to convey an uncomfortable air of dinginess given despite the garish paint-job.
The place is pushing itself as a tribute band venue, and makes much of its food offer, though reading between the lines I don't see a Michelin listing any time soon.
If you can stand all of that you get a choice of Bombardier or Doombar or two unused pumps when we called, and you'll need deep pockets at nearly seven quid for a pint and a coke.
If you go on a nice day it will of course be fine, you can sit outside and admire the lovely view, though you are likely to run out of money long before it starts raining.

Smart and tidy but a bit impersonal. The modern interior is rather bland and seems a bit at odds with the pub's position. Nice location in a slightly elevated position overlooking pleasant countryside. A fair bit of outside seating. Adnams Bitter, Broadside and Fullers Pride on, one spare handpump with no clip . Not the sort of pub I imagine has regular session drinkers but having paid £6-10 for a pint, a coke and a packet of crisps it wouldn't be! Looks to be aiming for the visiting food trade.
