It doesn't look bad from the outside but inside it is a gutted sports bar type place, with naff music. The L-haped bar has a dartboard at one end and a TV at the other, while there is a decked area out the back. The trio of handpumps offered a blue roll, nothing, and a pretty horrible TT Landlord. The only slight good sign was that the newish barman was actually playing darts between serving, which is encouraging but not worth an extra point. Don't bother.

This pub has seen better days,on entry there was an unpleasant whiff of stale urine, the interior is scruffy and seemingly unloved. To the left up a step is an area with pine flooring and a flatscreen, while around bar area there is a brick fireplace with Chelsea pictures above then a darts board. The flatscreens were off,we were the only punters inside and just 1 handpump offering TT Landlord which the friendly barmaid was having trouble pulling through. It wasn't great either NBSS 2.5.
Outside there is a decking area then a large garden with kids play equipment .Seperately there is an outside gents and the building itself shows some age. However it really needs someone with imagination to strip out all the tat ,there is a decent pub waiting to be uncovered here, but in its current state little reson to revisit.

A fairly basic straight forward pub, L shaped with varios seating, some set for casual dining.
Three pumps with Doombar,Hogsback TEA and Otter Poppy Otter available. Although the pub is rather average the beer garden is particularly impressive ,well planted and spacious accessed via a decked outside terraced area.

A fairly nondescript L shaped pub that nonetheless boasts a large and impressive grassed beer garden with nice views of the Surrey Hills. The left area is the nicest, with some cosy touches and a dart board whilst the right is more of a public bar style area with TV sports. External pool room to rear. Selection of newspapers available. Three ales, Wychwood Piledriver (spluttered and died), Pride and a lacklustre Doom Bar. Everything seemed a bit haphazard (exemplified by the tables not being cleared of what looked like Ollie Reed’s last drinking session). There’s enough here to make this a good pub but my visit didn’t overly inspire.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Spotted Dog

This pub is a bit of an odd mixture of traditional and modern, both inside and out. For example, contrast the old-fashioned bay windows with the cantilever pub sign design which would look more at home above the door of a gastro pub. Inside, the formerly separate bars have been opened out to form a 'L'-shaped layout, with a single step dividing the two parts. The interior has been heaviliy refurbished at some stage, with the furniture and decor being quite light in colour. It also has a modern decking terrace at the back, with a nice view of the Surrey hills above the town roofs and some distinctly old-fashioned gents toilets. Darts board. Three real ales on handpump - Pride, Bombardier and a decent pint of Courage Best (£3.20). Overall, I thought that the atmosphere had significantly improved since my previous visit in 2008 when I found it slightly characterless.

I L left this review about Spotted Dog

If its a nice day then the garden is well worth a visit for the views. However on our visit this ummer there were only two ales on and the pub wasn't busy. We waited for some time to be served while the barman was busy chatting with others then served some one who had just walked in. We walked out after that, so cant say how good the beers are kept these days.
