By Dorking West station a few minutes out of town (the line below “thought I was walking up the wrong road which started to resemble a cart track between a row of houses and an industrial estate” is uncannily accurate). Looks a bit battered from the outside and inside is indeed a bit careworn but retains a bit of old-skool atmosphere. Front bar with a spur off to the left for dining, containing a nice corner cabinet and fancy plates on a wall shelf. To the right is a fairy empty space with a darts alcove leading off. Retro patterned wallpaper with a salmon hue. Four pumps, Ringwood Bitter (poor), Thumper and two Doom Bar clips. Barmaid had cleavage you could lose your change down. Side grassed garden of impressive proportions which where half my Ringwood ended up. I wouldn’t make the effort to schlep out again.

Visited in 2005. I remember I liked this place, seemed to be split into 2 bar areas. They were particularly fond of advertising Guinness.

Nowadays, would say this is one of the best pubs in Dorking with a good range of ales and a healthy clientele. Very handy for Dorking West railway station. Will definitely be back here in the near future

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Pilgrim
Heading for Dorking West station (via this pub), I thought I was walking up the wrong road which started to resemble a cart track between a row of houses and an industrial estate. However, around the next corner, there was the pub which seemed to be reasonable place with a bit of character. Nothing special about the pint of Pride, though. (PS - The station was just a short distance further on, but really hidden away.)
