A rather soulless refurbishment has wiped out much of the character of this pub, with a preponderance of bare wooden floors and dining furniture. It still tries however, with various entertainments and food offers. It basically consists of a long irregular narrow bar room running across the front, with a larger room behind. There is a also large patio garden to the side. Three handpumps which should have offered Doom Bar, London Pride and something else were sadly all out of use at time of visit, while the food offering felt more like pre-packaged stuff. Not unpleasant but could be much better.

A Victorian built pub with several rooms now opened up that doglegs around the bar, some areas are more set out for dining but there is a main drinking area and a further room area with a pool table and more seating.Live music was being advertised and next up was Elvis! Its either the mother of all comebacks or just another tribute artist, I wonder which? On to serious matters only two ales available, a bland double act of Doombar and Courage Best, plenty of fizzy lagers and the like though for those that way inclined.Pleasant bar staff. Not likely to be back here anywhen soon though.
