The Cock & Bell is a J-shaped Greene King pub that was busy with diners during a recent Saturday afternoon visit. In the front right is a sunken seating area and standard furniture is found along the front left windows opposite the bar counter and up the long right hand side to an inglenook at the rear. The central bar counter supports premium keg alongside Fosters and Guinness. The four hand pumps were drawing GK IPA and Abbot Ale alongside the local Nethergate Brewery’s Stour Valley Gold and Venture. This is a food led pub with meal deals throughout the week, such as ‘Thursday Steak Night’. I had my kids in tow so being a family friendly pub it was a good place to stop, however I would walk past if I was on my own.

Clean and tidy Greene King pub, with the usual Greeny King ale fare in decent nick. Not bad, but nothing to get excited about - much like the rest of the pubs in Long Melford.
