Back Street trad pub with various beers served from cask. Not large or anything spectacular but quality product and would make a perfect local

A backstreet friendly locals pub, serving seven ales from stillage from a cold room positioned behind the bar, plus 4 ciders. The bar area over on the left hasn't altered since the pub opened in 1962. The walls and wood panelling have been all painted in light colours and has been carpeted throughout. Beer wise we went for the Bishop Nick Oath and Oakham JHB. The pub also serves pork pies, pasties and scotch eggs.

Great small pub well hidden but close to the centre of town, with a regularly changing range of real ale served straight from the cask.
Prices are the cheapest in town and quality has to be the highest. The William has a close bunch of regulars but all are welcome and as a female I have no problems with entering this friendly pub on my own and have always felt comfortable.
