Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Red Lion
Country pub with a couple of rooms. To the left as you enter is a restaurant with pale green wainscotting and cream painted walls. There are bare boards and all tables are made out for dining. Along bar had a couple of unclipped handpulls. The bar is to the right of the entrance down a small step. It has a tiled fireplace with a date above it showing 1562 and another pale green and cream colour scheme. Pictures of horse racing scenes can be found on the walls. A small bookcase had some books and games.
The pub features in the latest Good Beer Guide. 3 cask ales are served. These were Nethergate Old Growler, Woodforde's Bure Gold & Earl Soham Victoria Bitter. Adnams Ease Up IPA was the pick of the keg beers and the cider was Reveller.
Nobody was eating on my Saturday afternoon visit. A board to the side of the bar listed some bar snacks. Pop music was playing during my visit. Children are allowed in. There is a car park to the front and a spacious garden alongside it.
