Blue Scrumpy left this review about Hop House

The Hop House is part of the Castle Hotel. It was easy to miss at first, as the entrance was covered by scaffolding. The interior is fairly dark and probably not helped by the scaffolding. Our visit was poorly timed, as a wedding party had arrived and there was a large queue at the bar. The solitary barman did his best but warned us he would be serving the party first and that we'd have to wait around 15 minutes. This turned out to be just under 10 minutes.

Beers are all keg but there are 2 boxed ciders - Pulp Mango Daiquiri & Sandford Orchards Devon Red. Craft ales were Brew York Intervention, Wye Valley Nightjar, Drop Project Razza, Signature Hazy Machine, Bristol Beer Factory Laser Juice, Colbier Mansori, Stardust Zestar & Purity Everday. I opted for a keg French cider called Session Cider from Maison Sassy, which was very drinkable.

If you like craft beers, this may be for you. However, I'd be happy to skip this place if back in Tamworth again.

Al Bundy left this review about Bow Street Runner at The Castle Hotel

Didn't open until 5 on this Wednesday and to be honest it wasn't really worth the wait. Its ok at best.

Alan Winfield left this review about Bow Street Runner at The Castle Hotel

The Bow Street Runner is the public bar for the Castle Hotel, the entrance to this bar is on market street and not through the main entrance.
Once inside when me and the wife did this pub there was a decent sized single room, the beers on the bar were from Whitbread and the drink was pretty poor.
This pub caters for younger drinkers,i passed the pub very recently and the pub was very busy with younger drinkers,i doubt if there are any real ales on the bar,but i am not sure about this as i did not go in to see.
