A lovely looking detached undressed brick Victorian cottage-styled pub, with bay windows and central entrance. Has a small beer garden at the back.
The interior has an open plan L-shaped room that curve around the serving bar, which have three clear areas. If entering through the front door the area to the left is the pool area, obviously with a pool table (50p). The lounge/bar/music venue is the room you enter and to the right and front is a dart room. It is in a mix of cream and coffee wood panelled walls with some red patterned wallpaper, with white ceiling and mainly wood floor. There are a few brick fireplaces and old photos of the pub and area, along with Victorian style prints are on the walls. There is a TV in the pool area at least, but this wasn't on. They do regular open-mic nights and the musicians were about to set=up at our all too brief visit - would love to have stayed. The service was fine and the place quite busy with darters and a mixed crown for the music.
Beer; usual keg stuff, with Banks's Bitter, Purity UBU and a decent Rev James on handpull.
A great little place. The two pubs in Woodseaves are worth a visit. Another i would love to return to, especially for the music. A big thumbs up for this village.
