Soup Dragon left this review about The Talbot Arms

UPDATE: Visited this Edwardian looking pub again. It had just been closed for a month and new people have taken it on and are refurbishing it. Pool and darts still there. It never has done real ale in any of my visits and it still doesn't, which is a shame as it is a nice enough place.

Dec 2009: A nice detached pub, with red brick exterior and beer patio.

The interior is open plan around the central bar, with the far end having darts, pool and Sky TV. The decor is that nicotine stained yellowy colour, with wood panel and there is a lot of football memorabilia, from all teams, as well as some prints on the walls. The service was fine, the clientele mixed and it was very busy.

Beer; all tap stuff with an OK Theakston's MILD, and Black Sheep on handpull.

The lack of real ales was a disappointment, the pub itself was fine, so if you are happy with keg and like pub games, this one is for you - i am sure i will be back at some stage, assuming they keep the MILD on!
