Old Boots left this review about Handbridge

Handsome brick built pub with modernised interior of one L shaped room and a square side area on the left. Plain white walls with the odd picture, a mix of board floors with hexagonal tiling round the counter. Not much on the beer front with a horseshoe of national brands and a couple of latin lagers on solos. There’s not much of note in the interior or beer so the customers provide the only interest.

Over the bridge and around the corner from the main Lower Bridge St pubs. A pleasant enough place but very very wine barish than pub. Real ale is available.

Spacious and airy pub with plenty of wooded furniture and a large grassed beer garden that has a good view of St Marys Church. On my Tuesday lunchtime visit out of the three handpumps on the bar 2 had the clips turned around leaving the Golden Hen from the Moorland Brewery the sole survivor, which in all fairness was not a bad pint.

This pub has been refurbished and is now called Handbridge.

I much preferred the old white horse!
