Being a Vintage Inn I was not expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. It is an old village inn in a very large and rambling building, although a lot of it seems unused. The interior is nicely and traditionally furnished, with various historic prints and artefacts as decoration and a lot of aged woodwork. While the front rooms are laid up for dining, the main bar area is not and it is a good place for a pint, despite the odd jarring note of coffee machines etc. There is also a nice tabled outdoor area behind. Ales on were TT Landlord, Tribute and a well-conditioned Bass, with Pedigree off for line cleaning. As Vintage Inns go this is a pretty good one.
