A classic-looking modern (1977) opened-out estate pub which in fairness was fine though quite who hired Stevie Wonder to do the interior paintwork, I have no idea. Spotted a pool table and dart board which was obscured by the wheels of steel, presumably readied for an evening’s festivities. One ale on – Marstons Pedigree – which I was faintly amazed to find was the best example of the beer I encountered all weekend, really excellent. A decent atmosphere, we were basically ignored despite standing out fairly conspicuously which in an estate pub is generally the hoped-for outcome. 5.5
