Strongers . left this review about The Hanbury Arms

The Hanbury Arms has a room to the right of the entrance, that is still known as ‘The Coffin Dodgers’, that houses some seating and a dartboard. The main bar area is L-shaped with banquettes across the front and up the left-hand wall that is faced by a serving counter up the right that supports a couple of hand pumps and a standard and premium keg range. A pool table is located in the right rear alongside a jukebox that was silent while Knight Rider played with sound on the television, oh my I forgot how bad the Hoffs’ acting was. The bored to tears governor was polite, but I thought it was a bit crap in here and the loud buzzer going off every time the entrance was opened didn’t help.

Old Boots left this review about The Hanbury Arms

Open plan modernised Victorian corner pub with a side snug labelled “The Coffin Dodgers”. Furnished in a mix of cast iron based tables with upholstered benches and farmhouse kitchen chairs. Red painted walls above the dado with pink anaglypta below, a clue that this may be a good example of a larger Victorian local but it has an odd side to it. The choice of Red Dwarf on the big screen rather than localish footy between Villa and West Brom as well as the eclectic art work would seem to confirm the mild eccentricity. The very mixed bunch of customers were happy with this and long may the quirky British pub continue. There are only two handpumps, both on a short counter face in front of you as you enter, London Pride and a decent strong IPA from the local Tower brewery as a choice.
