Will Larter left this review about The Telstar

Obviously named after the satellites of the same name, the Telstar used to have a brilliant inn sign illustrating one of them high above the Earth (see my photo from 2011), but that is no more. I don't know if the pub building predates the satellites (launched in 1962 and 1963) and was renamed. The building looks to me like it's not as old as the houses around it, so could have been built around that time. The room to the left is big and airy and a little short on decoration. I don't know if the room on the right is still in use - a lot of pubs this size tend to just use one room nowadays. There's no cask beer, and my half of John Smiths Smooth was a little reluctant to be poured, but settled after a while. The woman who served me was very friendly, and the half dozen regulars at just after 3pm on a Tuesday were in a good mood.
