Strongers . left this review about Earl of Doncaster Hotel
The Earl of Doncaster Hotel has been decorated in an art deco style to a very high standard. The entrance opens into the lobby and reception and to the left is a seating area with a small bar counter that wasn’t being manned. There were still people drinking in here though because a wake was winding up in the main right-hand bar where there’s a thin mirrored U-shaped serving counter that separates uncomfortable high seating across the front windows from the main body of open plan seating at the rear where the wake had taken place. By the entrance is a raised area on which sits a piano and lots of different chandeliers hang from the ceiling. The service was obviously very polite, but £3.05 for half a Carling is a bit excessive even for a plush hotel. Theakston Best, Birra Moretti, John Smiths, and Strongbow were the other draught options. This place is visually stimulating, but the poor draught options and excessive pricing mean that I’ll not be returning.
