You definitely need your smartphone navigation to find this place. It is only a few yards from the main road, but down a nondescript alley in a fairly grim area. With the outside in a state of (dis)repair(?), it didn't look like a pub at all, but spotting the hygiene rating on the door I figured it must be so went in. Inside is quite pleasant: one long room with a games area at the far end and a modernish bar down the side with 6 handpumps - one cider and 5 ales at £3.40 a pint. They were pretty good too, including 2 from Horncastle, Great Newsome Winter Warmth, Wickham House Grimsby Mild and their own Old Mill Bitter, it being an Old Mill pub. There was a nice feel to the place, with a good crop of locals mid-afternoon. I was obviously luckier than Quinno, with a decent ale, and I would happily return.

Situated in an industrial estate in the no-man’s land between Grimsby and Cleethorpes is this building that from the outside looks like something out Eastern Europe that you’d find a body in, an absolute mess. Inside’s got a 80s vibe, though the plywood bar is awful. Karaoke Wheels of Steel on the go on a Friday night to an audience of people who you’d expect to attend such an event. GBG listed (!) with five cask and a cider on the go. I was the only one in it and my Old Mill Bitter didn't fully clear and wasn’t the best (NBSS 2). Don’t bother.
