A rather ordinary Marston's estate pub with plenty of parking which it shares with a vet's surgery and local shops. It's reasonably convenient for the Glovers' football stadium. The single large bar inside is looking very battered, probably because of the large gangs of feral pre-school children that run uncontrolled throughout the pub. The seats are dirty and many of them worn, presumably for the same reason. There are several children's cubicles with their own small TV screens off to one side but they don't stay in them, and the parents don't seem to care, or maybe it's that the cubicles look less like cheerful play areas and more sinister, like the cells in a brothel designed for Oompah-Loompahs. The staff were inefficient and rather unengaging. Four ales on draft, Razorback and Fortyniner from Ringwood, plus Brakspears and Pedigree, badly kept and sold at prices which made us quiver, higher than necessary, and we felt shafted. Not a top-flight pub, and if you avoid it, you will have an arrow escape.

Nice atmosphere for an estate pub but very limited range of beers (Pedigree is well kept) and menu is OK but prety bog standard and not at all exciting. Just better than average.
