A 1950s flat-roofed estate pub which serves as a good local. There’s a large car park and a smaller enclosed, paved garden, plus a covered smoking area by the car park door. Inside is open plan, a main bar area with a couple of smaller areas, mainly with dining tables, off it, all with laminate floors and fairly dull décor. The staff were friendly, the locals indifferent. They run regular quizzes and other events. Beers were in good condition, a fairly standard combination – Landlord, Speckled Hen and Ruddles County. A decent enough boozer, and we didn’t feel the need to get the flock out of there.
