A basic town ale house with its 2 original bars intact. There is no car park or garden, and it’s on a busy junction so can easily be missed. On the left as you enter is a saloon bar with 2 handpumps on the counter, on the right is the public bar which hosts a dartboard, gaming machines and a TV screen showing daytime TV, though it’s normally showing sports matches. It’s a blokey boozer, no frills. Food is sometimes served but there was none on when we visited so I can’t comment on it, though it appears to be reasonably priced, basic pub grub – Sunday roasts, steak nights and so on. Two ales on, I had a pint of Hunter’s Pheasant Plucker, which was drinkable but not on top form. OK for a quick one if you happen to be passing but not the best pub in Somerton.

Previous review doesn't reflect new owners who are building trade. Mostly wet led with food being served on themed days like Sunday lunch and steak night's on Fridays. Other offerings may be more hit and miss. Two roomed pub which retains a local clientele rather than the two next door to each other in the town that appear to attract some of the tourist trade.

Very poor standards and not at all welcoming. Avoid.
