A small, traditional high street pub, one of the very few left in this area now. It’s a freehouse, and the landlord is very keen on his ales. There is a small car park at the back shared with other businesses, and when the weather allows they put tables and chairs at the front, though it feels a bit claustrophobic when the high street is busy. There is a single small bar inside with dated décor. The landlord was chatty and welcoming, keen to know our opinion of his beers. Only one was ready, Langport Bitter from Fine Tuned, though Sunshine Reggae was cued up ready for later. The ale was in excellent condition. Food was standard pub grub at reasonable prices. Definitely the best bet in this part of town.
