Although an earlier pub, this place looks like a large 1930s-styled roadside pub. It is detached, has patio areas and is in red stone with the black beam and white Tudor look. The interior is a large, open L-shape now that all the internal walls have been ripped out, although it is part partitioned by a hearth feature. The decor is stone, white, wood panel, patterned paper with red perimeter seating. Carved corbels, plates and homely ephemera is the order of the day and there was no TV and no music at my visit. It was very quiet and the service was fine. They do food, but i didn't eat. Beer; usual taps with Courage Best and Tim Taylor Golden Best (MILD) which was pretty decent. A nice place - one certainly to pop into.

Nice looking pub on the main road just outside Chester , What was once obviously a multi roomed pub is now open plan but with plenty of quiet corners. Theres a long bar with a few decrotive mouldings of lions heads a theme continued throughout the pub , a few bare sandstone walls and old fireplaces add a bit of character as do the china nik naks dotted around . The food is the main buisness but drinkers are cattered for by 6 handpulls though only 2 beers on during my visit , Everards Tiger and Tetley Bitter , i had a Tiger which was good . I would visit again if passing
