E TA left this review about Langport Arms Hotel
An old town house, originally 15th Century, which became a coaching in called The Swan in the 18th Century. Now it is a small town hotel, a bit frayed around the edges, but popular with tourists. The former coach yard is now a sheltered paved garden and smoking area. The décor is in a state of elegant decline, mostly various shades of green in colour, complemented by a selection of horse brasses and porcelain plates which would make the most acquisitive maiden aunt envious. The overall effect is that of a care home communal area, but with a bar. Said bar consists of two rooms, one with standing room at the counter and a few tables, the other with a number of Chesterfield chairs and sofas, rather comfortable. The beer was reasonably priced and in good condition – Wadworth’s 6X and Henry’s IPA, plus Teignworthy Reel Ale. Not the liveliest of locals, but good enough for a quiet pint and ideal for a wake.
