A 16th Century alehouse which has been substantially refurbished in recent years. There is a car park and a large, well-kept garden with benches and tables. There is also a roof terrace on a single story extension, again with tables and chairs. Entry to two function rooms called 'Cider Warehouse' and 'Port and Cheese Room' is from both pub and garden. The inside has been opened out to form a single open-plan bar with flag floors and low beams. The staff are welcoming and the locals friendly. Food looked good but we didn't eat on this occasion. Three ales on, Tribute and Proper Job are the staples plus a guest. The beer was in very good condition, well worth stopping for, and I'd like to return soon to try the food.

Indeed reopened in 2014 with a massive refurbishment. The interior has been extended out the back with a large dining area and the main bar opened up and spruced up. There are also spartan furnished rooms upstairs if downstairs is full. The pub is managed by the Woods Cider people so expect to see one of their ciders on the bar. There is also a cider barn accessible via the courtyard out the back. There is a large car park and open lawned area with outside seating. Beers were from St Austall with Proper job and Tribute plus a beer I can't recall from Lancashire as a guest ale. Pretty decent country dining pub now, worth a visit.

Reopened after being given planning permission to extend and build a roof terrace. The area skittles AGM 2014 was held here.

A better than average country pub with a good friendly welcome. Interior is comfortable 'rural' as one would expect, but clean, tidy and welcoming. Three ales on - only had time for a pint of Teignworthy's Neap Tide, which was in fine condition. The only other customers during a previous lunchtime visit were three old-timers who spent a good twenty minutes at least talking very knowledgably (apparently, it turns out, from watching a lot of TV) about World War 2 - bless! Poor young barmaid didn't know what had hit her. Above average.

Nice friendly local pub with 3 real ales and taunton trad cider. Teignworthy Neep Tide was £2.00 a pint with Scrum Down £2.50 and Glastonbury Love Monkey. The Glastonbury was cloudy and off and my pint was changed without fuss as the barrel was near finished. Food was good and home made, but i was part of a special birthday party group.
