As described by our colleagues, below, I found this town centre hotel bar to be welcoming, friendly and civilised. On cask were 6X, Swordfish and Folly Road Sunburst, plus the Folly Road keg taps dispensing Helles, Peach, Hazy and Nitro, and there was Cruzcampo for those who prefer it. The barmaid was quite chatty, and she introduced us to the Wadworth loyalty card, though I doubt I'll ever get enough points to get a 'free' 6X. I'd be happy to come back here for a pint or two, and maybe I'll try the food next time.

A good looking hotel frontage leads in to a fairly open and airy interior divided into several areas. This was my first pub of the day having missed out on The Blue Boar due to a slightly delayed train. A Wadworth's pub not my favourite brewery to be fair but Folly Road Ozzie ( a Waddies offshoot beer as explained by Will below) was more than acceptable, the other two cask were Swordfish and 6X.
A nice place but not likely to be a regular if I were to live locally.

A handsome building and a worthy centrepiece for this very pleasant market town. One never knows what to expect with hotels like this, but I needn't have worried as it's smart and welcoming, and sufficiently publike, with a long bar counter featuring four hand pumps, three of them sporting pump clips. One was a modern pale with Australian hops, Folly Road Ozzie 4.2% (it's from Wadworth's craft brewhouse, apparently), one was their "rum infused" Swordfish 5% (named after a biplane from the 1930s) and the third was the reliable Wadworth 6X 4.1%, which was very good and £4.80/pint. We found an area with enough chairs and tables as our group arrived piecemeal from various delayed trains. It was noted that the beer here was slightly cheaper than in the Craft Union just along the road, which is a surprise. If we hadn't been given a challenging list of 10 pubs before our trains home, I might have been tempted to stay a little longer.

Nicely modernised Waddies pub – tidy, clean and bright whilst having some character. It’s clear that good money was spent here at some point recently, such as on the attractive tiled floor and good quality finish. Three Wadworth cask on and, despite it not yet being midday, my Swordfish was fresh and tasty (NBSS 3.5) and easily the best cask I encountered in Frome. So inevitably the place isn’t in the GBG!

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The George Hotel
Fine old inn on the Market Place, still offering accommodation to the weary pilgrims passing through... Somewhat altered inside, with various seating / dining areas around the 'L'-shaped bar and The Granary restaurant at the back. Semi-traditional furniture and decor. As a Wadworth house, the four real ales on handpump were 6X, IPA, Bishop's Tipple and the seasonal Dirty Rucker.

Was probably a fine establishment in its time, today however it looks a bit run-down and feels like its trying to be a Wetherspoons but without the cheap prices. Average.
