Previously Artisan, Olive Tree and Old Ship, the pub is as described by others, below and is currently run by Star Inns. Two of the hand pumps were dry, leaving the third to dispense Hop Union Maiden Voyage, which was in good condition. Keg options were Red Stripe, Cruzcampo, Amstel, Inch’s Cider, Guinness, Heart and Soul, Lunar Haze and Murphy’s Stout. I’d be happy to come back if passing.

A pleasant looking pub flanked by two roads either side, built with local stone fitting in with much of the surroundings. A deceptively spacious pub inside with a modern/traditional interior. Two cask beers were available, Siren Memento and my choice of Hop Union Miami Peach which was ok if not outstanding.
All in all a nice enough pub.

This is a popular pub that ticks many boxes, including for real ale, as it turned out. First impression was a young people's pub, and at first we were unsure as we couldn't see the hand pumps from the door, but another section of bar was hidden by a pillar or section of wall. There are three, with one of them having the pump clip turned around. (I did sneak a peep at the front of it but didn't recognise the beer or the brewery.) The two beers that were on were Miami Peach 4.3% from Bristol's Hop Union Brewery and Siren Memento 3.8%, their "modern best bitter", which was in very good condition and £5.75/pint (I had a half). We found some seats in what turned out to be the children's play area, with bean bags and a pretty good quality play kitchen. I said it ticked a lot of boxes!

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Artisan
Much larger inside than the traditional pub frontage suggests, with a thoroughly refurbished interior comprising three main spaces within an overall 'L'-shaped layout. Light, modern furniture and decor throughout. Three real ales on handpump: Butcombe Bitter, Bath Ales Gem and the 'house' Artisan Ale (£3.70).
