A run-down roadside pub/diner which appeals to hungry passers-by but very few others, although they do offer cheap B&B. There is a steep carpark at the front with steep steps down to the pub, whose front door isn’t immediately obvious. Leaf mould makes the steps slippery and the car park hazardous to motorcyclists. There is more parking at the back, which does have the benefit of a nice view. The exterior is shabby, some of the letters from the hanging sign missing and chunks of render falling off. Inside, there is a single large bar, with a 1970s tiled floor an a brick bar servery. The place lacks atmosphere, and the cheap furniture and horrible décor make it feel like a cheap Spanish holiday venue. There is no real ale or cider, and the bottled beers were were offered were of unknown provenance. Not worth stopping unless you want to have a picnic in the rear car park while you admire the views.
