A traditional Victorian roadside pub on the edge of the Bridgwater suburbs, now a freehouse. It’s a friendly, welcoming local. There is limited parking, and little by way of garden, though there are some seats at the front. Inside there is a large saloon bar at the front, formed from conjoining earlier rooms, which has TV screens and a range of seating. There is a smaller public bar at the rear, which has a pool table and dartboard. Overall it’s dog and human friendly, pleasant and convivial. One ale on, Doombar, which was in fair condition. Nothing exciting, but worth stopping if passing and a better bet than the more tourist-focussed pubs on the main road.
