Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Station Hotel
Slightly confusingly, this is not the nearest pub to the station (but that is only a few minutes walk away). With other pubs almost next door on each side, plus another opposite, this basic-looking establishment has some stiff competition (which is probably the reason for it being rather quieter than I was expecting). Inside, it is slightly larger than I first thought with a side room in addition to the main seating areas either side of bar. There are also a couple of small tables outside in an alleyway, but I think you'll need a smoke quite badly to consider sitting out there. Nothing to write home about decor-wise, but it does offer a very good range of beers from eight handpumps (mostly from small producers), and my pint of Houblon IPA from Summer Wine Brewery (£2.40) was excellent.

Oggwyn Great left this review about Station Hotel
Best pub in town , two rooms , back room is plusher with leather seats and low tables and has a TV a dividing wall makes a small cosy area, front room is the bar and is the heart of the pub , there is a large railway themed painting on the bar front and various model trains dotted around . Salopian Gold is the house beer plus a mild usually Ansells/Holdens and a real cider and usually six guest ales which are ever changing , never had a bad pint in here the beer is well kept . The bar basic , its a proper working mans pub , dont expect the ritz . The locals are a friendly if slightly mad bunch and there is plenty of banter which is the main source of entertainment . A great little proper pub well worth a visit

Great range of beers (8 handpulls) and the 2 I had, Brown Cow Benedicts Pale and Vale Gravitas were both in excellent condition. Very friendly place with lots of banter going on between the locals. I like this place. I'll be back soon.
