A welcoming town pub with reasonable ale, this Victorian building has been extended with a single-storey annex and has a car park, though not much of a garden. There are 2 bars, a public bar that was quite echoey and noisy, and a more sedate lounge with tables and comfy seating. The landlord and landlady made a point of coming over to speak to us, but then it was quite quiet. Ales were Sunbeam, Marston’s bitter and Pedigree, all in very good condition. It’s a really good local, well worth a visit for its welcome and ale quality.

Well kept two room pub , a GBG regular , the lounge is comfortable with lots of water jugs and old lamps plus other assorted bric a brac includding all the old guest beer clips(mostly Marstons/Jennings/Ringwood), the bar is more basic with sports photos and a few signed shirts , now the dissapointing bit 5 handpulls but only two beers on Bankss Original and Marstons Pedigree , a bit poor for a GBG pub . Service was good and locals friendlly , will have to try again to see if beer choice improves
