Proper pub… of which there are not many in Altrincham. a small lively bar to the right which contains the real ale and a well-used dartboard, the left door gives access to a few more areas. Three real ales on - Wainwrights, Exmoor Gold and Landlord, I had a pretty steep half of the latter. Staff and locals are friendly and this is a real town centre local.

The Old Roebuck has a door to the right of the entrance that leads to a front public bar. To the left of the entrance are a couple of seating a areas that are served by the left side of the bar. At the rear is a third room that is served through the back of this three-sided bar. In the public bar is a dartboard and some background music. The bar supports four handpumps that were drawing TT Landlord, Wainwright and Moberley Cheshire Pale. I didn’t see a menu, but I did note that pies are available and cooked to order, so there is a little wait.
Out the back is a large decked area with picnic tables. I found the service to be very friendly and was able to get very comfortable. This is a basic pub, but I would have no problem returning here.

A nice Victorian pub with low level extension and a couple of patio areas. The interior has an oval serving bar area with a bar room one side and a multi-area lounge the other. The bar had a TV with sport on and a dart board. The lounge had separate areas, the area we were in was in green wood panel with bench seating and had a fireplace feature along with a TV (not on). Service was very good and the locals friendly. It has been bashed as most pubs have been but it does retain a traditional feel. Beer: usual tap stuff with Black Sheep Bitter, Brakspear Bitter and Tim Taylor Landlord (fine). I liked this place and would definitely return.

A friendly old style pub. Low beams inside and a traditional feel to it. Real ale available.
