The Glebe is a victorian corner pub that is a short distance from Stoke train station, the pub is quite close to the A500 queensway which cuts through the middle of Stoke and lead to the demise of quite a few old pubs.
When i first went in this pub it was a Banks's tied house with a decent drink of Banks's bitter and mild on the bar.
The pub looks in better condition now under the Joules brewery banner that it did all those years ago.

Lovingly restored by Joules Brewery ,this ground floor pub features much Victorian splendour. The corner entrance leads into an area with a tiled floor, some tables and chairs and it's own counter while to the right the main drinking area contains an ornate carved wood fireplace with a warming wood burner and a large Royal coat of arms above. There is a solid wood floor, some fitted bench seating against the rear wall ,and a beer barrel acting as a small table with three high chairs. To either side of the fireplace are two oil painting mounted on the wall, and a little further along a board with a full listing of all Joules tied houses picked out in gold leaf.
This bar section carried the same three ale handpumps as the other side namely Joules Pale Ale(excellent),Slumbering Monk and Blonde on my visit with a fourth handpump for Old Rosy cider.Food is available but I didn't partake.
The stained glass windows to the front contain Joules insignia and although the updated interior has yet to weather in,the overall affect is terrific. This is a fine recreation of a Victorian drinkers pub, hats off to Joules for not opting for the cheap option.Only 5 minutes walk from the station and canal, this would make a great double header with the nearby White Star if you are in Stoke Town.I will certainly return.

The exterior of the pub looked very scruffy so gave this pub a miss, needs a bit of T L C
