Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Crown
Good-looking old hotel opposite the Abbey, with two separate bars and semi-traditional furniture and décor throughout. I went into the right-hand side (which turned out to be more of a lounge / dining area) and found three real ales on handpump: Bath Ales Gem, Dark Star's Hophead and Spring Break (£4.20) from the Greene King 'Future Brewers' range.

Directly opposite the abbey. Very friendly staff and though it could still do with freshening up it is a decent enough place. 3 real ales on.

Two room pub opposite Shrewsbury Abbey , the bar is pretty plain with bench seats around the sides , the lounge is slightly plusher , there is also a small outside area , lots of pictures of old Shrewsbury Town Teams on the walls , this was once the nearest pub to the old Gay Meadow ground , and a few brass plaques comemerating some of the old regulars including Shrewsbury terrace legend Anti Tank .
Usual keg taps and a couple of handpulls , only Bass on though it was pretty good .
Its OK in here if in need of a little TLC

At least the second time i have been to this pub, as it used to be very close to the old Shrewsbury Town ground.
Another Georgian styled building, flanked by other buildings.
Clearly a footy-friendly place, as free food was layed on for the Shrews fans coming back dejectedly from Wembley, but it was nice and the pub was really busy.
Usual taps, with Fullers (yuk) and Bass, as well as M&B MILD, which was what i had, and was fine.
Another pub that falls into the category of 'its ok, but better places to go'.

A large two roomed pub right facing the abbey. Both rooms are very similar with bench seating around the edges. Two handpumps on the bar, but both clips turned around. I didn't fancy a half of cold fizzy stuff as it was cold enough outside, so I left it.
