Formerly owned by Marston but now in the hands of the local Three Tuns Brewery of nearby Bishops Castle. This has led to an improvement in the beer range (the quality of the beer was never an issue here, in my experience), with XXX, 1642, Clerics Cure and Rantipole, plus the mild and the stout all available when I was here recently. There've been a few internal changes (a games room at the back with pool and darts, and access to the former hotel dining rooms which now make extended drinking areas) since my last visit, all for the better. This was always my preferred pub of the two in Clun, though the beer was generally better at the White Horse. However, Three Tuns beers are definitely a notch or two up the scale compared with Clun Brewery (though having said that, the Three Tuns mild is a tad underwhelming, so a visit to the White Horse if they've got Hobsons Mild on would be an option).

This 15th century inn is well worth a visit. Friendly welcome, I enjoyed the cosy snug bar with the oak beamed ceilings, slab stone floor, panelled walls and inglenook fireplace. Well kept Banks Mild and Bitter, lounge features oldest pumps in Britain. Food has a good review. Will call again.

Nice, friendly A local as it used to be without juke boxes and gaming machines. Good conversation and good food, and I really felt at home. Locals are very friendly. It was a perfect place to spend a cold winter's afternoon and to eat in the evening. Well recommended.

An terrific traditional country pub which dates back centuries and is full of history and has a welcoming real fire. Good ales and the people who run it are really friendly. Clun is a lovely town, worth a stroll around. The locals even talk to you! I felt at home the minute I walked in.
