A nice pub up the hill from the railway station. A very flowery exterior gives way to an traditional pub with plenty of areas to sit and a nice beer garden to the rear. 4 handpulls for real ale with Wye Valley beers on. I liked it.

Nice looking pub with HPA and Butty Bach on when we called. Both were fine. I liked this place and would happily call again.

You need to go and experience the Gastronomic delights of this pub, they do not skimp on the portions and the food is superb. Good range of beer and wines, brilliant staff and the landlord comes around regular and chats and checks everything is ok.
If you visit Bridgnorth do not go without popping into this pub, brilliant gardens to eat out in the summer.
Top Class.

Regular GBG Entry.... two C17th cottages knocked together. Traditional low beamed ceiling pub feel.
Famous for its Sunday lunch as well as its beer - an excellent Wye Valley Butty Bach was chosen out the four available.
Recommended.

The Old Castle is a nice looking pub that is a short walk from the White Lion.
Once inside there is a small single room, the front area seemed more of a dining area and was full on our Saturday dinner visit, there were normal tables and chairs in this area, the bar is to the rear left and down a slight step, this area is bare boarded, there is bench seating opposite the bar.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Wye Valley HPA which went down a treat, the other real ales were Wye Valley Butty Bach,Hobsons Town Crier and Doom Bar.
There is a garden to the rear.
The pub was so busy we had to sit on bar stools and was then tempted by the pipers crisps, which were very nice.
We quite liked this pub, though i would have preferred to visit out of normal dining hours.

An inviting looking pub, with a traditional interior. You enter the pub through a small lobby area, which was wallpapered in a modern style and you are also met with a full suit of armour standing to one side. The interior of the pub had lots of brassware and old paintings of Bridgnorth, another feature was a Victorian cast iron fireplace. The pub attracts mostly diners and ale wise nothing of great impact. Four ales on handpump, which were Thwaites Lancaster Bomber, Wye Valley HPA, Sharps Doombar and Hobsons Town Crier, so we opted for the Hobsons.

This is another old pub, small with wooden floors, beams and seperated into different areas. The bar area is in a small room in the middle of the building.
The four hand pumps here dispense what is apparently a fixed choice of Doom Bore, Thwaite's Lancaster Bomber, Wye Valley HPA and Hobson's Town Crier. I went for the Town Crier (£3.20) which was in very good nick.
This is a nice enough old pub but the unadventurous beer choice let it down for me.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old Castle
Attractive town pub, with traditional furniture and decor in the low-ceilinged dining area at the front and compact bar further back. Conservatory with pool table beyond, then a patio beer garden and a viewing terrace overlooking the town right at the rear. Four handpumps, providing a choice of Doom Bar, Landlord, Wye Valley HPA and a good pint of Hobson's Town Crier (£3.10). Worth a look if in the area.

Low ceilinged with old beams in an open plan room of two parts, there is a residual wall that is mainly chimney; which is reached via a side corridor. The front section is largely given over to dining and further back is the counter in a quarry tiled, traditional public bar styled area. On the counter there are four handpumps, Greene King IPA, Waggledance and Hobsons, no contest there although the Hobsons was a tadge warm but still a good pint. Behind the public is the conservatory with pool table and beyond that is a beer garden by the looks of things. There are lots of clocks and old photos making up the décor of this charming pub.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Old Castle
A small terraced black and cream exterior pub, with dormer windows
The front bar has cosy furnishings and a television, whilst a rear room, which is actually a conservatory but doesn't feel as such- has a pool table. A side room has a restaurant in it. Also has a nice rear beer patio. Service was good and what i saw of the inside was clean.
Beerwise, usual stuff plau Banks's MILD smooth, but on handpull there was GK IPA, Spitfire and Hobson's Bitter, which saved the day to be fair.
Another solid pub for me, but with so many, it would, with its lack of beer choice, be one i may do every other trip, unless a hot day, then patio - here i come!
