A village pub which is the end of a row of cottages and compared to The Chequers, a more traditional alternative albeit an ale range limited to just Fuller's London Pride on one of the three pumps. A long, thin rectangular room, slightly subdivided within, the floor is pleasingly flagstoned, a wooden bar snaking along the majority of the room (an area to right of the bar was accessed via a doorway but the lights were out). A large open, exposed stone fireplace is located against the far right-hand wall and the rest of the walls are rendered and painted white. Dead on my Sunday afternoon visit, this was friendly enough, but probably visited at a bad time. Overloud commercial radio probably didn't help - out of keeping with the surrounds.
