Alan Winfield left this review about The Chequers Smoke House
Chequers Smoke House is a pub with a daft name that is on a very nice looking street in the middle of Witney.
Once inside there is a very long room which extends to the rear, the ceiling is beamed, the seating is normal tables and chairs, the bar is to the front left, the rear area is up a slope.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Brakspear bitter which was a decent enough drink, the other beer was Hobgoblin and an house beer called Smokehouse bitter.
Food seems to a big player in this pub and it attracts younger customers.
Old style american music was playing which got quite annoying after about 10 seconds.
This pub is best left for the bright young people of Witney.
