Still going which is great although the car park has been taken over by a hand car wash (must be due to the popularity of hand cars). Two ales now on - St Austell Tribute and happily a Bellinger's brew entitled 'V' which was served to me in a hi-ball glass and which was a decent drop. Still quiet, but it's an OK alternative to the other two options in Grove village. Mark upped from a '3' to a '5' by way of the locAle.

A square-shaped former Hook Norton charge that has recently re-opened as a public house after a brief conversion to an American diner / motel that never actually opened. Internally, a staple-shaped room with a central bar sees tables laid out either side and beyond, and it's a sympathetic makeover although the purple and green paint scheme may not be to everyone's taste. A couple of leather sofas, pouffes and armchairs are located to the front right of the bar, showing that the focus isn't solely on the dry stuff. There's exposed brick wall at back of one of the dining areas where a large iron clock resides. Disappointingly, there was no real ale on offer, despite the presence of four handpumps (even more disappointing considering the presence of beermats from the nearby Bellinger's Brewery). The go-to option of a pint of Guinness was indeed very decent, but you'd expect that for £4 and there was slightly too overloud muzak for a quiet Monday night (there was only myself and one other punter in). I wish them well, but some people with less of a tolerance for the lack of real ale may feel little inclination to return.
