Formerly a snooty riverside restaurant, this is now a snooty riverside restaurant and bar, meaning us tickers can "just get a beer" here now. Located on a quiet stretch of the Thames, there's the odd boat moored up either outside or either side of the riverfront patio area, which was swarming on my mid-August Sunday afternoon visit (you can actually hire a boat from here). A former boathouse, the main restaurant area retains some of that building's original features and the windows were flung open on this most clement of afternoons. Three ales on in the form of Brakspear Gravity, Wainwright's and a very good Loddon Ferryman's Gold (which I would have expected at £5.05). This is one that the other half would have liked; the menu basically consists of posh pub grub done well (battered haddock & chips £18.10, 8oz brisket burger £17.90) and there are the requisite white-shirted and -bloused young things serving, so the "is there anything else for you" rating is high with this one.
