Strongers . left this review about The Bullingdon

It was just myself and a local who was chatting to the woman working behind the bar during a recent Tuesday evening visit. The was some brain damaging background music playing, this is a live music venue so expect chaos at the weekend. This is a square unit with a bar counter up the right and red leather sofas in the front left window. Banquettes run across the rear and the graffiti around the walls is fantastic, I hope it’s not just wallpaper. Limited premium keg was available and I didn’t spot any hand pumps, but I’m led to believe there are a couple. I’m far too long in the tooth for here so this was my first and last visit.

Modern outlet (formerly the Bullingdon Arms) which specializes in cocktails but nonetheless had Hooky Golden Lion on pump (a little cloudy but OK), plus a selection of UK bottled ales. Friendly foreign barmaid. Upmarket interior with sand coloured block tiled walls and a fistful of TVs all silently tuned to different channels (one had the footy on). ‘Kiss Fresh’ provided piped music. Rock cafe signage, thought that died out in 1995? A collection of retro vinyl nailed to the ceiling. Live music advertised and a large amount of artsy literature available. Odd mix of clientèle, a few older blokes at the bar plus a smattering of female students. As I was finishing up some drunk Irishman sat down next to me, growled "black and tan c**t", spat on the table and then offered me outside. I politely declined his request with the international sign of the loony and then beat a hasty exit, never to return.

Good Guinness was served here on my one visit around 1994.
