This pub/restaurant has been recently refurbished. There is now an extensive menu, good beer & fine wines along with a very warm welcome. Breakfast is availale from 8.30am, food is served all day. Sunday lunchtime features a wonderful carvery. You should check it out for yourself - you won't be dissapointed

Begbroke was lobotomised years ago by the dualling of the A34 when it was a main trunk road north. That has now been replaced by the M40 but the centrepiece of this Oxford commuter belt village remains the large roundabout which at least has the effect of slowing the traffic passing through. The Royal Sun is stranded on the wrong side of the roundabout from most of the village and doubtless suffers as a consequence, indeed it was alarmingly quiet when we passed though.
Despite all of that is is a pleasantly pubby affair though much knocked about over the 300 or so years it's been around. There rather chilly welcome however suggested it needs a good does of TLC if it to suffer the fate of too many village pubs. The forlorn handpump with the Pride clip turned round only confirmed my view that they're going through the motions.
Best to press on.
