An attractive and charming Brakspear country pub located down a narrow lane off the main road running through Blewbury. This is naturally divided into two rooms - a dining area through a door to the right on entry, and bar / dining to the left. The right was unexplored, although a large party of lunchtime diners vacated the bar area to wander through so it was soon occupied. The chunky L-shaped bar area itself is charmingly rustic, all tiled floor, brick wall and dark wood with a large open fireplace occupying the left-hand wall with log fire ablaze. The beer selection was limited to just Brakspear Bitter on one out of three handpumps (the other two were unclipped) which came in at £1.85 a half, and was fortunately in decent shape. There's precious little room on the bar side and more than two people at the bar make the place look crowded, so you'd be best to avoid this in the evenings when the locals flock in, as you'll struggle for somewhere to park yourself.
