Komakino . left this review about The Wheatsheaf
Formerly in the hamlet of Oakley until it was subsumed into Chinnor in the mid-70s this is located on an S-bend on entry from the south of the village. Formerly a cosy two-roomer, this has been opened up into a narrow rectangular shape with an extended bit to the far right which forms an eating area. Tiled floor throughout and the South African décor including corrugated iron bar façade makes this seem more bar than pub. Three pedestrian ales on - GK IPA, H&H Rocking Rudolph and 'Wheatsheaf Ale' (re-badged H&H Bitter) for £4 a pint. My Rocking Rudolph was as good as you could expect from that particular beer and a despite being busy with young and old during my visit a couple of gripes are the narrowness of the bar area between the entrance and bar itself which gets hampered by patrons drinking at the bar and a large screen projector which screens live sport against the far left wall which can be a distraction. That said, the South African-led menu which includes racks of ribs, potjiekos, boerewors and steaks contain more than generous portions for hungry carnivores and gives the place a diversity against the other establishments in the village.
