A modern GK pub adjacent to a golf course and other recreational areas. It's also near a business park, and it's separated from the nearby water park by a main road which lemmings might find appealing. There is a small car park, a large open plan bar and a conjoined dining area. The bar area has no bar stools, just comfy chairs and occasional tables in abundance. The rest of the pub is furnished with tables lid for diners. The size and layout of the pub means it can never be convivial; if busy, it is impersonal, if quiet, sepulchral. The picture is completed with gaming machines, tv screens and piped muzak. The food on offer is formulaic and unappealing, pretentious combinations of nice sounding ingredients which are ruined by over-cooking, freezing, reheating and being served in a manner appealing to jackals. There is a cabinet full of sports trophies, mainly, I suspect, golf-related. There were three ales on – I had a pint of Olde Trip which was a rather boring pint. Fine for visiting if in the area, but not worth including on a crawl.

Visit summer 2012
Greene King pub, adjacent to golf club, seems to be part of club but maybe not, anyway it is open to public and seems a mixed clientèle, families, rugby club types, golf bores and escapees from Holiday Inn up the road using the free Wi-Fi [this was me]
Normal Greene King offerings, but nicely done, and polite
One large bar, but divided into areas, so no need to be on top of each other
Large outside seating area, overlooking the golf course, has large car park, but ample free on road parking [bit of a busy road though]
Serves hot food, presumably from wherever GK get it from, not tried but looked OK
Not worth a special trip, but if in hotel down the road [easily walkable], or like golf & in area, then worth a visit
