It takes a bit of imagination to work out there was an old coaching inn here: what we find now is some North London design consultancy's idea of what one might be if they'd ever strayed outside the M25. The one small public bar that's left is completely devoid of atmosphere, you could be anywhere really, and judging by the absence of any customers mid-evening on a Thursday it makes no effort to be part of the community. Presumably the focus is on the restaurant, but that had also failed to attract any custom. Service was enthusiastic though I suspect we were at the bottom end of the learning curve. The one working handpump dispensed Black Sheep in very poor condition. It's nowhere near Silverstone.

An old coaching inn,the village is very pretty and well worth a visit. The pub has undergone an extensive refurbishment which it badly needed. Its close to Silverstone Racing Circuit so keep away on race days.
