Strongers . left this review about V Lounge

I think the fact that V Lounge advertises itself as a little taste of Oxford and a London lounge experience is enough to repel most, so I wasn’t surprised to be the only customer during a recent midweek early evening visit. Housed in a Grade II listed late 18th century building, the days of the Jolly Weavers are long gone with this building now being owned by the Voujon Indian restaurant next door, which explained why I kept seeing restaurant staff walking in to talk to the polite barman. Wooden flooring runs throughout and to the left of the entrance is a large low table that is encircled by an old worn sofa and little square Moroccan style stools. To the right of the entrance is another low table and there’s a fireplace on the right-hand wall above which a television was supplying some background noise via a music channel. The serving counter runs across the rear wall to the right where a premium lager was off which left Madri (£3.10 for a half), Atlantic Pale and some ciders available on draught. In the left rear is more seating that runs up to a stage at the rear where DJ equipment can be found, DJ event evenings are advertised around the pub. Out the back is a well-kempt patio courtyard with seating. This bar is aiming itself at the cool twenty and thirty-something crowd of Banbury, the sort of people that don’t start drinking until late which is why the doors don’t open until 17:00 in the week.

Not very Jolly at all. Seems a bit dilapidated inside but could be good with a few quid thrown at it. Real fire a small bonus. No real ale available so moved on.

Alan Winfield left this review about Jolly Weavers

The Jolly Weavers is a decent looking pub that is situated on a very nice street.
Once inside there were a couple of rooms and these were quite smart and comfortable, when i visited this pub it was a M&B tied house but there were no real ales on here i had a drink of keg M&B mild which was a decent enough drink.
This was a nice enough pub it was a shame there were no real ales on the bar.
