The Barley Mow is a Sizzling Pub that was packed with aged diners during a recent midweek afternoon visit. To the right of the entrance are a pool table and a dartboard, but some of the seating was out of use due to a leaking roof, in fact there were buckets on the floor to catch the drips. An L-shaped serving counter runs along the rear wall to the left of the entrance and the carpeted left-hand side of the pub is akin to a dining area. Up the left side of the pub is a large grass covered beer garden that looked inviting, although it was a bit wet to enjoy. Standard and premium keg products were available and one of the three hand pumps was in use drawing TT Landlord. The service was polite, but it took over five minutes to get served so I thought the food would take an age to appear meaning I didn’t get to partake in a cheap grilled meat chow down as planned. This pub is too far out of town to warrant a revisit.

Situated on a busy traffic island, the car park is lower than the pub. Wheelchair access is not easy and the disabled toilet inconveniently placed.
I have only visited to share a bottle of wine while wasting an hour. Its a Sizzler pub with a cheap menu. This brand can be variable ,to say the least, when it comes to food.
