Komakino . left this review about The Crown
After a period of closure, The Crown re-opened at the end of 2023 under the ownership of Oak Taverns, so the usual lick of paint, and a smart, cosy interior we now have. A weeknight visit saw both rooms packed to the rafters and in the throes of a weekly quiz, hosted by the landlady. I was able to grab a perch at the bar (still in the same place) which now offers four ales – on this visit Young's London Original, Loose Cannon A Hard Dray's Night, LoveBeer Bramble and Little Ox Yabba Dabba Doo. Pints of the latter two were both in good shape (NBSS 3.5 and 4 respectively) and coming in at £4.80 a pint. They get food vans of varying cuisines in throughout the week, and there's a beer garden/patio out back which has also been smartened up. A village now has its pub back, and it's a good 'un.

The only pub in this drive-thru village, this is a two-roomed affair with a room to the right of the entrance being a dining area and an L-shaped room to the left a distinct bar area including pool table and dart board. Bare-boarded floor, low beams and exposed stone including an open fireplace. Three ales on comprising Sharp's Doom Bar, Otter Bitter and Young's Special - the latter in decent shape and good value at £1.80 for a half (a poster said they were in the 2018 GBG). Food is of the pub grub variety and this is a cosy enough affair, the incumbents being in situ for quite some time.
