Will Larter left this review about The Lock Keeper
An attractive destination after walking from Kiveton Bridge station along the mostly moribund Chesterfield Canal. The weather had improved after intermittent showers to sunshine and clear skies, so the sight of four hand pumps was more than tempting. One of them turned out to be a joke about water for the dog (Hop Hound 0%), but we'd neglected to bring one with us, so went for the Wainwright Golden and the Hobgoblin Gold. My gold was a little hazy, but drank ok (NBSS 2.5) and my walking companion was happy with his Wainwright. We sat in the sunny garden and sang the praises of Marston's, until I remembered that they are no longer brewing and we were being charged an unwarranted £4.65/pint for pretty ordinary beers.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lock Keeper
New-build Marston's pub / restaurant with a budget hotel next door. Usual formulaic interior of various seating / dining areas around the central servery, but the place benefits from a substantial patio beer garden. Disappointingly, just 61 Deep (£3.75) available from the four handpumps, despite a Wainwright clip also on display.
